Up and Running

Our van is up and running again. Thanks to mom and dad who picked it up from the mechanic so I wouldn't have to drive as far to get it. It runs a lot better and smoother. The only problem with it now is of course the problem we took it to the mechanic in the first place for. If you are first starting the car and happen to be backing up, when you go to put it in drive it stalls. It doesn't matter if you have not driven it for awhile or have driven it all day it does not like to start out in reverse then into drive. But at least it runs and sounds better. Hopefully we will get better gas mileage. We were getting about 10.5 mpg in summer and about 11.5 now that the weather has cooled down some. Go figure. I am just hopeful it will last us another year and then maybe we will be able to get another new-to-us used car. New cars are just too much stress for me. If you buy a used car it already has dings and stuff. Waiting for that first ding or scratch on a new car that you are paying a ton of money for is way too much stress for me.

I'm glad it's workin' out! Car ownership isn't everything we thought it would be when we were 15, is it? :)

Jason said sounds like it could be a bad torque converter. They couldn't figure out what was wrong? How frustrating!
I hope to get a different car next year too, I've had this suburban the longest of any cars, 6 years I think and it is 8 years old.
